As Ramadan draws to a close, we’re marking Eid al-Fitr by celebrating with two wonderful members of the UCARGO team — Ami and Tas.
Eid al-Fitr, meaning “festival of breaking the fast”, marks the end of a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. It is one of the most significant occasions in the Islamic calendar — a day of gratitude, togetherness, and joy.
We asked Ami and Tas to share what Eid means to them, and they answered together.
On what Eid feels like:
“Eid, I think for all Muslims brings a sense of joy and love. Reflecting on the month on what we have achieved spiritually. Overall, it is just such a wholesome day.”
On the food they look forward to most:
“At lunch it is a big feast of many home cooked curries — king prawns, lamb chops… the works.”
On a tradition they love:
“It’s the community getting together, going round family and friends’ houses and enjoying traditional food such as samosas.”
Ami and Tas also wanted to share a message of their own:
“From both of us, we would like to thank management for being so understanding this month and making it easy for us.”
It is a privilege to have team members who bring such warmth to everything they do. Wishing Ami, Tas, and everyone celebrating a joyful Eid. 🌙
