Bifa Awards 2021 Finalists – Project Forwarding Category

Next week we will be attending (excitedly, in-person) the BIFA Freight Service awards for 2021 as we are a finalist in the Project Forwarding Category for our work on a Defence Project we did across 2020 & 2021.

Last year’s awards were watched online, where we were also finalists (sadly not winning) – but looking forward to being there in person this year to mingle (safely) with our fellow finalists and BIFA affiliated peers.

The project we entered for this category, was a huge team effort and encompassed many hours and many staff working round the clock to complete.

Our entry was a 12-month project, with a long-term client that we have grown with across several years. The project involved 2 elements – Firstly approximately 700 specially built containers which were commissioned to spec in the middle east, shipped to the client in the UK to load to then onwards to the final destination in mainland Europe. The second part was 185 break-bulk steel structures to load RoRo from USA to mainland Europe.

There were of course issues that we had to overcome such as Brexit (just when all the containers were to be coming in and out of the UK) and the pandemic being in full swing – so a bit of creative working, many zooms, as well as staying on top of all the changes happening in Europe at the time.

The awards are next week on the 20th January 2022 – watch this space.
