In a project commencing in April 2023 and swiftly concluding by the end of May 2023, Ucargo successfully executed the transportation of a substantial piece of equipment from Turkey to the USA via the UK. The cargo, an aircraft handler crucial for loading military aircraft, posed unique challenges due to its size and length. The intricacy of the project lay in manoeuvring this oversized piece of kit, evident in its significant overhang on the trailer.
The journey began with a road transport operation from Turkey, with the cargo making its way across borders to the UK. It was then ferried across the channel and taken to Southampton, where it then embarked on an American Roro vessel with a US flag to Galveston. The final destination was in West Plains, Missouri, reflecting the project’s international scope and the intricate logistics involved.
The decision to route the cargo through the UK was driven by the absence of a direct US flag service from Turkey. While this added an extra leg to the journey, the military preference for a US flag option, if available, underscored Ucargo’s commitment to providing comprehensive solutions. Despite the challenges posed by the cargo’s size and the need for a specialised service, the project was efficiently and expeditiously executed, showcasing Ucargo’s capability to handle complex logistics with precision and speed.
